Meet the Artist : Caroline Cooke Glencoe Studio Art Gallery
Stop in to “Meet the Artist” Weekdays from 11:00 to 4:00.
The Glencoe Studio is located on the main road the A82 in Tighphuirst a few doors away from Crafts & Things cafe.
About the Caroline:
Caroline Cooke is a self-taught artist, receiving her first set of “grown-up” paints at the age of 12 and making her first sale at 15.
The scenery of Glencoe and the West Coast provide an unlimited source of inspiration for her work. Caroline prefers to work in soft chalk pastel but also paints in other media.
“After becoming a Mum this also includes poster paint, glitter glue and crayon!”.
Caroline aims to capture the atmosphere and mood of a landscape.
“I am particularly fascinated by the sky and how it is affected by weather conditions. I also love the vibrancy of the colours you find in our hills and coast and find chalk pastel the best medium for expressing this”.
When not painting in her studio, Caroline likes to teach at workshops for the local kids and gets involved with local community art projects, some of which can be viewed in Other Work.

Clachaig Inn presents : Scottish Gin Tasting
Scottish Gin – What’s New?
What’s New – A Dynamic Market?
Few things in life seem to be as dynamic as the Scottish produced Gin market. Over the last couple of years the number of Scottish produced gins available has soared from next to nil to seemingly gezillions, and the increase looks set to continue.
We’re taking a look at some of the very latest bottlings available. So new are they, that the’yre not even on our shelves yet. And as well as a simple introduction, we’ll also be looking at how best to enjoy them.
Join us for another of Clachaig’s Gin Tasting evenings and we’ll do our best to tackle the subject.
Limited places are available. Entry fee is £5.
Book your place now by emailing us here, using the subject Scottish Gin tasting or phone us on 01855 811252.
