Lovely Weekend Stay!

 a stay in Jul 2018
We have just had a lovely weekend stay at Laich Cottage. Fiona had kindly fired up the hot tub that’s tucked away in the back of the garden ready for our Friday evening arrival, which was just what we needed. The cottage is absolutely immaculate and very cosy and quaint, with a wee table and chairs to sit out in the garden and enjoy a glass of wine if the weather is good. Fiona and Alasdair’s own plant centre is just by the cottage is lovely too and we did mean to pop in and buy some plants on the Sunday before we left but we were just too sharp getting away on Sunday morning before it opened. So we’ll make sure we buy some next time.

We’ve been in the area a few times previously and love Port Appin (a 3 mile walk or 10 minutes in the car from the cottage) where you can get the short ferry trip over to Lismore to walk or cycle, or just have a lovely lunch at the Pierhouse Hotel and sit outside and enjoy the spectacular scenery there as we did this time. We also had dinner in the at the Old Inn Appin which is walkable (about 30 minutes) from the cottage. They do amazing steaks and it’s a very characterful and ancient building. We really enjoyed our mini break at the cottage and really looking forward to returning for longer next time!
